An overview of Section C from Mr Hartley

Here's something Mr Hartley has given to his class.

What you need to remember on Section C

If you were at P.E. moderation last week, this is what you missed. You MUST make sure that you catch up on the notes you missed, or email me and arrange a time when I can go through it with you.

This is the handout we filled in:

This is the Powerpoint that went along with it...
yes, it's naff, but you need to find a way that helps you to remember what to include.

An excellent punctuation resource...

How many times have we discussed the semi-colon? Too many. Anyway, it is essential you know how to use it - and that you do use it, so here's an EXCELLENT explanation (with cartoons) on a website.

Past Questions

As with sections A and B, past questions can be found on a couple of Edexcel websites, here and here; click 'Question Paper'. You need to look at 'Paper 1'; we don't do 'Paper 2' as we've done coursework instead.

Some rhetorical devices to include in your writing...

Print (or open) a copy of this file when preparing to write a Section C piece; try to fill in 5 of the boxes for the topic you are writing about - and then use them in the course of your writing!
